Training Officer

TECHNICAL TRAINING OFFICER, Mississauga location

  
SUMMARY:
The Training Officer is responsible for effective coordination of training activities, in accordance with company wide/department training requirements. In performing this role, the Training Officer will interface with engineers, resource managers, line managers, subject matter experts, training coordinators and resourcing staff to aid management in effective course development and delivery.
 
 
DUTIES:
Interface effectively with engineers, line management, resource managers and course instructors to coordinate activity related to course development and delivery.
 
Assist resource managers as required in conducting meetings with engineers, line management and course instructors to define technical course needs, requirements and budget requirements for course development and delivery.
 
Plan and schedule technical training courses for designated disciplines based on line management requests and overall project and services defined training program requirements.
 
Maintain schedules of technical training courses for publishing on OnTrack Online and Website, interfacing section members to communicate technical training opportunities to managers and staff.
 
Facilitate technical training course delivery, performing all logistics to implement training with support from training coordinators.
 
Maintain copies of course content for technical training records, verify content with instructors.
 
Compile, analyze and prepare training feedback assessment statistics and detailed reports to evaluate effectiveness of technical training.
 
Interface with external program providers (Nuclear Technology Diploma and UNENE masters degree program) market such courses to client staff and monitor client staff course enrolment and feedback.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post secondary education in fields relevant to training. Relevant field experience in an active training environment is an asset.
 
Strong coordination, planning and organizational skills as related to project planning and scheduling activities.
 
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project, Outlook.
 
Ability to work with and set up training equipment.
 
Self directed and assertive within the scope of the position and effectively interface with management and with all levels of staff.
 
Able to define effective and efficient training related work process improvements for delivering technical QA training.
 
Knowledge of course development and delivery processes.
 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
 
Attention to details is important along with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team to promote achievement of team goals.
