SUMMARY

The trading Desk focuses on the trading of power and is responsible for the management and dispatch of assets.  Individuals must demonstrate strong internal and external communication skills with the ability to thrive in a high pressure continuously evolving work place.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for maintaining and optimizing power delivery commitments.  Buy, sell and schedule energy across geographically diverse markets with multiple counter parties throughout Canada and United States.  Establish and maintain effective and profitable relationships with counterparties comprised of various marketers, traders, utilities.  Mitigate plant contingencies and ensure the fulfillment of contract obligations during physical curtailments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Market experience an asset. Previous exposure and understanding of primary trading products such as physical and financial swaps, indexed and fixed priced products, financial options and derivatives and ancillary service products.  Strength and confidence with current trading platforms and web based applications.
